Watering Holes

China Post 1 has members in all corners of the world. To create a way for these people to gather and meet each other we have designated Watering Holes spotted across the globe. To find one near you check our list below or contact Webmaster. If you would like to establish a new watering hole in your area, you must have a MemDiv in place exceptions are on a case by case basis.

Afghanistan – “Jacks Tora Bora Cafe”
(Its written about in the best-selling war book, The Hunt for Bin Laden) and it was the FIRST place to get the ok for serving alcohol. It is on the rooftop of the Mustafa Hotel in Kabul, and run by two American expats called Weiss and Sol. It is very reminiscent of Lucy’s Tiger Den in Bangkok in the 70’s and 80’s. SF drinks free the first night– so I’ll let Weiss and Sol know that CP boys should too.

Germany – The commander of Stuttgart American Legion post, George Johnston, has hung our CP1 banner in the Community Club on Patch Barracks Army post where they hold their meetings. Also we have another CP1 banner hanging in the Special Forces club “Garden of Eden” near Panzer Kanserne Army Post. Our members are welcome.

Philippines – Rocky Mountain Café, Plaridel Street, Brgy. Quezon
Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The owner of the establishment, Rocky Mountain Café, is a Kuwaiti gentleman who is very appreciative of what US Forces did for him, his family and his country and jumped at the chance to allow his place to be used as a watering hole for CP1.

Thailand – LOOK OUT INN PATTAYA – The Look Out Inn is located conveniently close to “Walking Street” in Pattaya and is frequented by multiple nationalities, but seems to draw a majority of Americans, especially military veterans and active duty sailors that are looking for conversation and cold beer. A Happy Hour Watering Hole in the true sense of the word. CHIKNCOOP, PATTAYA (New in 2015) – Chicken Coop. it is owned by Mike Cooperman and his wife. The location is: Second road east side about 100 meters south of Soi Diana Inn. Mikes phone number in Thailand is: 086-071-6109.

FINNEGAN’S, BAN CHANG – This is a super friendly pub, with Guinness on draft, along with other English and Irish draft beers. The owner Terry Tansley is there every day and is an excellent host. The food is outstanding a mix of English, Irish, and American food, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. What makes Finnegan’s special are the friendly staff, the welcoming environment, and the varied selection of spirits and beer.
